Photographer’s Note

This is the Ipiranga Palace in São Paulo.

Yesterday, Sept 7th, was Independence Day in Brazil so I thought this was an historically appropriate post.

This palace is today a museum, open to visitors. Its gardens are a very nice park, normally full of people during weekends.

Olá Robert,
Ficou muito bom o seu retrato com belo contraste de luz e sombra em preto e branco. A nota é interessante, mas seria bom também em português, já que várias pessoas não dominam o inglês.

Hi, Robert, it's a nice BW view of Museu Paulista or Museu do Ipiranga, as it is also known. As a tip, maybe you could add some contrast, it uses to provide good results in BW images.

About your note: this building did not housed Brazilian monarchy. In fact, it was built at the end of XIX century, after the end of monarchy, and it has been a museum since then. Monarchy palaces are found mostly in Rio de Janeiro, that was Brazilian capital at that time.

What is special for us in this place - Ipiranga - is that it's the place where our Declaration of Independence was shout by Prince D. Pedro, in 7/9/1822, and he became the first Emperor of Brazil, after independence.

Composição sóbria e excelente nitidez.
Se tiver paciência, fiz uma pequena série sobre os jardins do museu há zilhões de anos :)
Bonita mesmo, Robert, ainda que não se possa notar a grandiosidade da edificação.
