Photographer’s Note

The stars of the stage, so to speak, in Kota Park in Madre Dios, which is probably Bantayan Island's best place for watching the sunset.
It was impossible to ignore the smiles and attention of these kids and I could have come back every singe day, just to shoot portraits of them. They lived in small cabins in Madre Dios, just by the beach, so I suppose their families were fishermen.

Everything looks good for me, but the shadow in the bottom...great portrait.

Very nice portrait of these kids.
Good use of flash here, almost surprising that the girl in front looks strait into the camera.
Well composed and with lovely smiles which the kids there are well known for (although I know some kids who try to avoid being taken photo's of as much as they can).
I have not had that many children in front of my camera when in the Philippines though.

What a lovely lot! The girl in the foreground could be a world-known model in a few years. And you're right - these smiles are great!

Hi Henrik,

Nice low-angled shot. Well-balanced use of fill light to bring out all the happy faces. The solo boy at left and group of 5 girls in the middle make a very good composition.
