Photographer’s Note
Ever since I was a little girl(?!), I have been fascinated by the desert. For me, the desert equals: no crowds, unlimited space, no responsibility and unbound freedom. All things I like (yes gals, I'm single).
So when I ended up in this horrible town called Hurghada, I was the first to sign up for this Desert Safari trip. The brochure told me I was to meet authentic Sahara nomad people, see how they live, watch the sun go down with them and have an authentic nomad people dinner with them. Could it be that there is actually something cultural near Hurgada? No.
You're brought to this awful Safari Park in the mountains where everything is fake. The drive to the camp in a Toyota 4x4 is kind of fun and you have the chance to shoot some empty desert photo's like this one.
This was taken at around 14:30 hours, some 25km to the west of Hurghada airport, on top of a little hill, pointing my camera to the south east (according to me internal compass which is usually not far off). In the back you see the Red Sea. This is the first if my Egypt series.

Hi Startacked
It seems an amazing view,
somehow i feel if you could have composed excluding the mountain on the left it would have been better. Also the strong contrast above between mountain & plain, pulls the eye more than the tree.

Hello Gilbert
You seem quite critical of this destination - but I like the vastness shown in this photo. Without the tree there would have been no sense of perspective and your high position allows us to see across to the Red sea, Tfs, Marlene

Hello Gilbert,
An almost surrealistic view, well presented in a good composition and soft natural colours.
