Photographer’s Note
Illuminated in the afternoon sunlight, the baroque facade of the Iglesia de la Compañia shines over Cusco's Plaza de Armas. The energy of the Inti Raymi festival, which earlier shook the grounds of the city's main square, is vanishing with the shuffling feet of departing spectators.
* This image has been modified from its original version. I have increased the size, adjusted the sharpness and color saturation levels slightly, and added a frame.

Hello Brian,
The light is very beautiful and I like the contrast between the Church and the dark background.
The fountain on the bottom right part of the picture is cut : it's a pity.

Interesting composition, the light's nice and the picture's sharp. The frame's welcome.

Hello Brian,
A very good POV and interesting contrasts between the brightly lit cathedral and the darkened, slummy area behind it. I detect some kind of symbolism here. The crowds in front of the church give us an idea of the dimensions and add little spots of colour.

Gert

Hello Brian !
But how do you do for having so many elements on your photos ?? It's amazing ! You always find the good POV in order to get an overview of places. So many details ! A bird would not find better POV than you ! ;-)
What I like in your photos is there is always human presence which give much animation and make monuments much more appreciable.
Colors are beautiful also and very attractive.
Brian, you said you have adjusted the sharpness and I see it by comparing this photo with the first version.
Neverless I perceive a little vibration in your photo. I do not know how to explain it because I am only a simple photo hobbyist. I think it's due to your camera. This vibration attenuates a little theclearness. I say it to you for your information, you know that I am a great admirer of what you do.
Have a nice week Brian.
Best wishes.

Hello Brian,
I wonder from where you took this picture. Anyway it's a fantastic POV allowing us not only to see the magnificant church but also a part of the lively plaza and the districts with smaller houses on the background. Between the many red roofs we find here and there a blue façade. Wonderful.
Best regards, Paul

It's the first time I see a photo of Cusco in TE, and what a photo! This church and plaza is a spectacle and you found an enviable pov and light. Especially the latter -in my opinion- is the best feature of this outstanding composition. The contrast (of light and colours) with the shadowed hill behind is so good to make the church stand out wonderfully from its bg.
The clarity and sharpness of the image is amazing and I am even more amazed at seeing you shot it with a compact camera. Either your lens is really a best one or you discovered the trick for a perfect sharpening in pp.
My sincere compliments,
Donato

Hola Brian
Seems just about the best time to shoot this cathedral, its facade is glowing under the light and contrasting against the background dark hill, very luminous image
Have a nice day JY

Hi Brian, what a fine shot, making the best possible use of the late afternoon glow. I like how it brings out the colour of the flags, juxtaposed for even greater effect against the stone church. Taken at any other time of day, this would have been ordinary, but the superb light brings out the magic in this scene.

Ryno
