Photographer’s Note

Lake Orta is a relatively small lake in northern Italy (length 13 km, width 2.5 km).

There is a picturesque island in the middle of the lake, seen in the shot, called San Giulio island, after the local saint, Julius of Novara, who lived in the 4th century.

It's like a painting. Backlight leaves just a few highlights. Buildings and background mountain is so typical northern Italy. Well framed tele shot.

Nice imaginative play of light here. The silhouette hints not only of her features and thoughts, but also of the colors in her hair.

Have you considered cropping to a vertical format? That would be even more dramatic.
