Photographer’s Note
On the road between Perth and Braemar you will spot this place. This is on the road that goes through Glen Shee.A great drive and one I have reason to travel on a regular basis.

Hello Bev,
The red buildings are really striking against the green field, but they also make a fantastic contrast to the rusty colour of the barren hills. Funny to see a little forest still kept on one hillside. You were lucky with those clouds too.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
Quite surprising to see such red buildings in the UK, even if these are just red roofs. But they match the green fields in a very good and attractive way. They are really catching my eyes!
Kind regards

Hello Bev,
This makes me think of Gunnar's Swedish red houses, though the colour of this red is a bit more orangey.
Red and green being complementary colours, they go well together, as do the rusty reds and the darker greens on the hillside. That bright touch of blue-green on the end of the big red house sets another contrast with the red roof.
A fine sky too, to top it off nicely.
I wonder if a small crop of the right side might improve the balance of the composition.
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hello, Bev.
Well, I'm not at all surprised that both Gunnar and Gert have commented favourably on this one - the image has many similarities to the pictures which we see posted from Gunnar, at least.
A beautiful, soft blue sky, lovely Scottish hillsides, brilliant green foreground and, of course, those wonderful splashes of vermillion perfectly placed in the foreground - they all add up to make a wonderful picture and a perfect composition.
Fabulous!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hi Bev, these are unusual looking rooves, I thought they must have been tents from the thumbnail! They contrast nicely with the greens and browns in the rest of the scene.
cheers

Bev,
What a shock to see these Gunnaresque houses in Glenshee! I wonder if they are always so startlingly red? The particular lighting is also bringing out the warm tones in the bracken (?) and the trees.
Very fine picture. Thanks,
Winifred
PS Is there still a pottery about midway between the Spittal and the elbow in the road?
