Photographer’s Note

Famous in the world since it was built in 1962, by Alexander Calder Teodelapio has become the symbol of the modern city. In reality Teodelapio was the first of stabiles monumental sculptures created by renowned American. The work was the result of the call by John Calder Carandente to participate in the exhibition "Sculptures in the city" as part of the V Festival of Two Worlds, which then became a mythical reference in the history of twentieth-century sculpture. In the book he tells the story of the first anti-monumental monument erected in this century in a square in Italy through the words of John Carandente, known internationally as a leading expert in modern sculpture, Calder's friend for twenty years and author of shows Spoleto. The graphic design is by Julia Binfield. This volume is first in the series ChartaFocus. Purpose of this series are those books were born around the story of a single work or a limited range of work, or the specific project of an artist.

Ottimo controluce, quasi un bianco e nero, vagamente opprimente nel contorno del traffico urbano, quasi espressionista.

ciao Silvio,
la foto mi piace per l'attento studio della controluce, ma pur amando l'arte lo considero uno dei tanti monumenti all'inutilità, spreco di denaro pubblico..in nome di cosa?
So che non tutti la pensano come me, ma mi sentivo di dirlo con la solita franchezza che conosci.

Ricordo quando l'hai scattata. Io stavo parcheggiando, tu già ai poisti di combattimento... in attesa dell'arrivo degli altri amici. bel controlcue e altrettanto gradevole atomosfera. per uno spoletino qusto è e sarà sempre "il gatto"

l'effetto del controluce che enfatizza la sagoma del monumento è molto bello, l'effetto è davvero splendido, avrei solo croppato il caseggiato sulla dx che mi sembra alquanto bruttino.

Superb shot of this giganrtic sclupture. Calder is one of my favorites. His steel sculptures are really monstrous.

I like your shot because it expresses feeling and originality. You have a strong composition utilizing the shape of the sulpture. Your photo has that WOW factor helped strongly by Calder's sculpture.

per me che sono appassionato di controluce, posso soltanto dirti che hai fatto un ottimo lavoro.
Il cielo ha subito una strana tonalità e il monumento (diventato soltanto l'ombra di se stesso), svetta bene su di esso, creando un bel contrasto.

very good take of the famous sculpture. It looks almost black and white tone. Your note is also very informative. Light, depth and sharpness is great. But you composition here is outstanding with the backlight condition. Tfs.

prise de vue audicieuse et à contre jour, pas vraiment évidente, et une ambiance qui glace les veines, on se demande ce qu'on coit au premier plan.
