Photographer’s Note

It is a duty for every muslim to do five prayers a day. These are the jeepdrivers at the entrance to Wadi Rum prostrating towards Mecca shortly after noon. This prayer is called 'salat adh-dhuhr'.

Bonjour Roland,
Très bel instantané, insolite, avec une atmosphère particulière dans ce décor sauvage et minéral.
Dommage que tu as laissé ce poteau à droite qui gêne une peu la compo.

Hi Roland. It is an emotive shot and humbling too. I like this aspect of Islam that no matter where one is, provided one faces Mecca, then the faithful can fulfill their daily obligations. As for the light pole on the right, it balances the tent on the left and tells us that this shot is current. if it was in sepia and minus the pole, it would be a timeless photo.Selamlar. Klaudio.
