Photographer’s Note
Kylemore Abbey (Irish: Mainistir na Coille Móire) is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1920 on the grounds of Kylemore Castle, in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. The abbey was founded for Benedictine Nuns who fled Belgium in World War I.
Originally called Kylemore Castle, it was built between 1863 and 1868 as a private home for the family of Mitchell Henry, a wealthy politician from Manchester, England who was also MP for Galway County from 1871 to 1885. After the death of his wife Margaret in 1875, Mitchell did not spend much time there. He and his wife are both buried in the small mausoleum near the church in the grounds of the abbey. Notable features of the abbey are the neo-Gothic church (built between 1877 and 1881), a miniature replica of Norwich Cathedral, made from local green Connemara marble, and the Victorian walled garden.

Hello Hartmut ,
A nice view of this famous abbey . It would be better to crop the little piece of sky in the corner.

Hello Albert, u got a nice shot here, a good angle allowing you to get both the river and the abbey. Nice countryside landscape. The tree in the left side looks a little ghostly and i like it.
tfs!

Hello Hartmut,
The composition is very interesting : the castle seems to be lost in the trees. You managed to catch a nice light.

Hallo Hartmut!

My best regards.
Daniel.

Hello Hartmut,
Good point of view to show the abbey!
The deep green surroundings makes the castle stand out very well, enhanced by the fine light...
I also notice the reflections in the rippled water, adding an abstract mirror..!

Hi Hartmut, I haven't seen many photos of this Abbey before, so thanks for bringing us something new and interesting. The reflections are beautiful - it is a very tranquil and idyllic scene. TFS and have a wonderful day, Lisa.

Hi Hartmut,
it is hard to take a good shot of this abbey because the weather is always bad there and without the sun the shade enhances the grey color of the building.
I like you shot though because of this nice reflection in the water which makes the photo more vivid.
Nice work,
M

Hi Hartmut,
A very well balanced composition and a very good photo, where the reflections also play a major role. An interesting note to make this a fine contribution.
Kind regards

Hello Hartmut,
Superb edifice and very nice shot with a POV and a framing very well selected. Beautiful reflections in the water. I like too the nice harmony between the color of the abbey and the green of the vegetation, the abbey arise very well.
Have a nice day,

Hallo Hartmut,
