Photographer’s Note

This shearing shed was built in 1964 to replace another which was destroyed in a severe storm. Not one sheep was shorn here as the property had converted to running cattle. In the foreground can be seen other rusty remnants from the past - 44 gallon drums, corrugated iron and part of a shearing engine.

Hi Marlene,
Beautiful light, almost 6.00pm I see in the exif data.
Corrugated iron becomes very photogenic in this low cross light.
Your composition and POV are exemplary.
Lovely rustic look.
One thing about farmers, they never throw anything away.

Hi Marlene, there was no doubting this was Australia even in thumbnail. That light is spectacular, the sky is beautifully exposed and I like the composition with the "thingy-ma-jig" in the FG nicely balancing the photo. Nice work, I like it alot, Lisa.

Another great Australian photo Marlene,
The piece of machinery is shining in the evening light as the grass and trees. The shed adds a modern (well 1964 is fairly modern in the bush!) perspective to it - old + new.

Hello Marlene,
A splendid shot in a very nice evening light. The rusty iron has acquired a kind of beauty as years have passed, and even the corrugated iron of the building becomes appealing in this light. The sharpness of this picture is impressive.

Marlene, great lighting on this one, it is warm and the shadows add a lot of depth to the frame. Colors are great and the deep shadows are perfect, great work.

Hi Marlene.
A very evocative photo, full of the warmth of the late afternoon light, the colour enriched by the CPL filter. The shed looks in good enough condition to be useful today, and I like the light and shadow on the corrugations. The absence of people or any sign of daily activity here only accentuates the sense of nostalgia. There are so many farms with rusty old equipment lying around; I wonder if there are any collectors of this stuff. Anyway, terrific photo.

A special, interesting and beautiful sight with the vertical lines of the trees, the fence and the house distributed all over the view.

this is the essence of the outback! Very well composed impression of the shearing shed that is so nicely surrounded by these typical trees. The rusty machine is very attractive composition wise. The perspective is excellent. But most of all I like the fantastic light. My compliments!

a beautiful picture of the excellent view,
this light and tone of colors are very tender to old rusty device and house,
and also this orange tone makes the grass field shining golden color,
moreover the composition of trees makes touching space feeling.
