Photographer’s Note

Majority local houses and temples have same color, with walls in orange color and roof tops in brown color, after looking many colorful architectures feel good and fresh to look at the wide green rice field. This type of rice fields are not unfamiliar for me, it is an important agricultural, rice as the major foods for Asians. There have two types of rice fields, this is a rice field on the plain, the other type is rice terraces on the slope. There have few sites of rice fields on this island, but the total production is not enough to cover demand, they have to import rices from neighbour country Thailand.

Excellent paddy field and terrace framing, you really have given them high prominence in your photograph and it works very well. The sharpness is incredible high and the green and brown hues are vibrant. I like your photograph very much. Well done

I like photos of agricultural landscapes, in particular this one because it is so unusual for me. In Ukraine there is an research institution for rice, but I have never seen rice fields here. Your shot is really so green and nice. In addition it is taken with very good composition and photographic qualities, in particular sharpness and clarity. Excellent presentation of Indonesian rural area!

Even if the land is quite level I notice the need for terraces in the background, to keep the water to cover the young plants...
This is a well done documentary of Indonesian agriculture!

Hi Ally,

You made a very effective and attractive compo with the graphics of that flat, wet and green landscape. It's a pleasant image to look at, also good as documentary.

Although it isn't a surprise, it's a bit frightening knowing that fertile areas like this don't provide enough food for its inhabitants. It happens the same in Portugal, but the abandon of the fields has much to do with that.

I am not a big fan of rice, except for some dishes and,of course, Asian food in general, but that exclude me from the average Portuguese, as we eat much rice, I think more than twice the average European.

The rice plantations are more spectacular than corn fields. The point of view is excellent. The glance runs naturally to the terraces and goes down again to see the detail of the plantations. The image is quite made up and very quite enlightened. Cheer.

Hello Ally, Nice agricultural scene with lovely shades of green & interesting pattern formed by the rows of rice, a sight that is common to you but many of us never see it, only on TE. It is interesting to read that rice is imported because they can not keep up with demand. Well done.

This is what I ever like to see, the wide rice plots with meticulous ground drawings well detached. I have no oportunity to visit such a country like Indonisia or I am not foreseeing it. But the natural dazzling countryside to whom gets to be at its interior finds out an unknown distant land. Distant from everything of our costums or for the common daily life we are used to see. Their expressions may be an unic register to everlast in a precise shot. I Know some people are too old. The youngest delicate ones vigorously match with this nature. If I could remain a long time there it would be a fantastic experience or a decision to take whether leave or not. Friendly regards. Domingos
