Photographer’s Note

one of the most impressive alpine roads, the passo Stelvio, up to 2757 meters.
from Bormio, you'll drive 19 km, with 1400 up, 37 spin curves and on the other side 30 km and about 2000 meters down with this time 48 curves...
the road is also small, you may have some difficulties crossing vans.

Hallo Didier!
Bal werde ich auf solchen Straßen fahren und wandern,aber aud den Kapverden sind sie leider nicht in einem so guten Zustand........und ich bekomme schon jetzt Höhenangst.
S&W wirkt gut hier und der Kontrast ist toll.
Gute Kompo mit dem schattigen Dreieck im Vordergrund.

Hello Didier,

Voici un col qui manque à mon palmarès de motard !
Lorsque je vois cette route, cela me démange !
Le noir et blanc met l'accent sur les contours de la route et leur aspect graphique ! Mais je dois dire que j'aurais volontiers admiré une vue en couleur.

Hi Didier,
Wow, those hairpins are tight! Famous road, no wonder they praised this on the "Top Gear". B&W gives this original touch. Following the curves gives strong sense of perspective.

Riche idée de l'avoir convertie en noir et blanc, j'ai escaladé ce col en vélo 2 fois cet été et c'est vrai que l'on ne peut s'empêcher de vouloir photographier ces virages ou tornante (36, je crois)

wow - was für ein Bild. Das sind ja noch mehr Kurven, als auf den Buchenberg hinauf. :-)) Die Klarheit und die Details hier sind fantastisch. Diese letzte Kehre - da habe ich das Gefühl, ich stehe genau dort! Extrem schön...

Tja, ich bin selbst kein großer Fan von b&w, aber ich finde, dass du es hier perfekt gewählt hast. Damit lenkst du die Aufmerksamkeit auf das Wesentliche. Klasse gemacht!

Hi Didier,
It must be a spectacular drive and a dizzying one too with all those bends and curves. The black and white brings out the textures and tones of the landscape nicely.

Hi Didier,
Great B&W capture with good tonal range. If possible I may have move forward a little to prevent clipping the road. I do like the diagonal shadow and that is one hell of a crazy road. Id love to cycle "down" it however... Well done.
