Photographer’s Note
Sunrising behind me over Loch Glendhu whilst the rain was falling in the distance. This caused the double rainbow you see, with a further rainbow not visible on the image.
The morning was still as they come with not a drop of wind
Update
I have reposted this photo with work done to take account of the critiques given
I have dramatically reduced the noise in the sky using Topaz (my latest toy)
In doing so i found it completely flattened the scenery rendering it mushy and removing the clarity it once had
to compensate for this i used the history tool and restored the Loch and surrounding areas back to their untouched state
I added a minor frame around the edges to allow the image to stand off the page more
Critiques welcomed as ever

Hello John,
you have captured a very specal moment with a dramatic light, wonderful warm colours on the shore. Maybe I would hav placed the line where land and water meet a little bit higher according to the rule of thirds.
Best regards,
Katrin.

Hi John
Quel ciel impressionnant, tout en contrastes.
Et bien joué d'avoir capturé cette luminosité rasante sur le lac !

Hi, John, an excellent capture of that sort of still morning. Your pp seems to have succeeded.
Scrolling down to hide the top, I think I would have cropped just above the brightest part of the main bow (incidentally this puts the end of the bow exactly half way across - I don't know if that is good or not!), but I would not add anything to the bottom of the picture to try to satisfy the rule of thirds. You could also get a lovely panorama by cropping below the bright cloud.
Best wishes, Winifred
