Photographer’s Note
The Eiffel Tower is like the Golden Gate Bridge - one of the most photographed objects in the world. The challenge is how to come up with a new, or at least uncommon, view.
I was able to make this attempt because we were guests on one of the tour boats (Bateau Mouches) that go up and down the Seine one evening (a long story; suffice it to say we would have never done something so touristy on our own!). It was shortly after sunset when we came back, and I saw that the tower would line up neatly behind the bridge. As the boat went by, I got off several shots; I like this one the best.
The bridge is a passerelle - a pedestrian bridge - built in 1900 for the world exposition.
Technical: Slight sharpening and cropping. Also, noise reduction with Dfine (on a moving boat, I had to go to ISO 1600).
PS: We are back home, sorting through laundry and photos, and ingesting coffee.

Hi Dan,
yes, this is the best.. the tower raising at the point where all lines meet.
First I thought I´d choose other settings (f11...long exposure) then I read about the boat..I understand now.
Compliments, Chris

Welcome home Dan -
Yes, this is a bit different. I do like the composition and the lights on the bridge as well le Tour they all seem to work together.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello Dan
I see that you returned well in United States and that you have begun to sort out your photos.
As you say it, the tower Effeil is photographed a lot and it is difficult to make original. But you made a success.
I like the metallic foreground very well lit and the tower with its top coming out of the night, as put on the bridge.
Good use of Dfine to nose reduction.
Félicitations.
Cordialement.
Le bonjour à Jean.

Bonjour, Dan.
Welcome back. The composition is excellent, with the roadway, arch and the Eiffel all juxtaposed. A tripod would have been helpful to produce a sharper image. But sometimes you have to just push the speed instead.
Again welcome back,
Bulent
