Photographer’s Note

I have tried for some time to capture a bird in flight, but until yesterday i have been unuccessful.
I saw this black headed gull sitting on a post so i used my girls to presuade he gull to take off. I was able to catch the the gull on the down stroke.

It's not always easy to capture a bird in flight.
Using your accomplices to make him move was clever, but another trick is to go to places where people feed them, especially if they circle around the area in a regular pattern, you can then anticipate and take them head-on.
Of course a DSLR hav an easier time to focus fast and take lots of frames so you can shoot continuously in order to get hundreds of shots to get that one or two gem, like this: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo1132036.htm
