Night before race start (I): Urania Photo

Photographer’s Note

We are now approaching the end of the first part of this voyage, becasue these pictures are the prelude to the race start, which will happen the next day. I am now on board the Dutch lugger Tecla, for the best or the worse, but linked to the ship for the next 4 weeks. And for the last night ashore, because we do not know one another, there was not much tentation to go back to town for a last drink...
As for me, I just went around the harbour for a seriee of night pictures.
Here, the other Dutch competitor in this race, the yacht Urania, of the Dutch Navy. The main post is the best in a serie of 4, but I only post a second one, with some effect of fluttering flags...

Really a splendid night photo. With its golden light, reflections on the sea and greath depth is immediately very attractive. I like also the view of the distant ships to the right in the bg. I like the one in the ws too, even if this one is more essential.
