A common scene..sparked a reaction in my mind..hence the post..

Yes youve seen this in photos too..when the pyramids were being built..the work overseen by the Pharoah's supervisors...

nothing has changed...3500 years have passed ! -

This will give you a better idea of what's going on..

It is said It took more than manual labor, though. Architects achieved an accurate pyramid shape by running ropes from the outer corners up to the planned summit, to make sure the stones were positioned correctly.

And priests-astronomers helped choose the pyramids' sites and orientations, so that they would be on the appropriate axis in relation to sacred constellations.

Now there is a rining sound develoing in my ears...:)))

From stone pusher to priest, every worker would likely have recognized his or her role in continuing the life-and-death cycle of the pharaohs, and thereby in perpetuating the glory of Egypt.

Although not a pleasant scene, still an excellent documentary photo, showing life as it is, unfortunately! Excellent framing and composition, powerful imaginary diagonal, perfect choice of b&w and great contrasts! Congratualtions!

An interesting view, taken from a godo angle and brought in strong contrasts that create a special atmosphere. I like the way the man with the hardhat is put in a telling dominant position.

Hi Sayeed,

you went to the edge in the contrasts...good hand with the sliders. Difficult to choose one of them. Each one takes the scene in a different approach. This one shows more of the individual work and his relation to the boss. The other one has a more general meaning of the action. I like both, buddy!

I know what you are trying to get across, and I love it. One question though? does it really go back 3500 years or even before that?

Love the jagged edges of the high contrast.

Men working as in ancient times, with no protective equipment, subject to accidents. Their life is not worth as much as the others? Great composition, I like the tilt, the good contrast and excellent management of light.

I worked on construction sites - I was the interpreter - and I must say that if you have not worked on building sites you cannot understand the peculiar atmosphere, hierarchy and mood that inhabit them. it can be a receptacle for lost souls, ex-convicts, losers... and you can meet wonderful people who are humble but intelligent. constructions is a world of extreme contrasts and contradictions, and your photo visualizes that. I like the diagonal approach - here as well as in the WS it works really well, it's like a cut into reality.

Excellent scene and composition.

Your title forces the viewer to open the thumbnail...strong contrasts between black and white makes this look like a film. Interesting idea of the tilt, looks like the slope of the pyramids you described in your note...a thought provoking 'idea-shot'

Very impressive, Sayeed. The WS is almost like a punch in the stomach, even after we have read the note and had an idea of what's going on here. Well presented in this harsh contrasted b&w.

you had a brilliant intuition. The photo is ok, I like the style here with the white so punchy...but what I like the most is your note. Yes, nothing has been changing in the last 3500 years and this scene could be the same in Middle Age, 3000 years ago, nowadays and tomorrow..could be the same in Asia, Europe, Africa, America, in every city, in any kind of job, from the big factories to the smallest shop, whether you are a blue collar or a white one. Always the same, wherever. That's why I like your pic, your words and I think this is a "global" image.

we, human on earth, are capable of doing everything. we just need to work or be forced to work hard :))

excellent framing, focusing on the difficult labor over there. and the WS offers a really good comprehension for the overall event, a photo worthy for a real post, i would say.
