Photographer’s Note

The New Temple of Metz from the promenade along the Moselle River.
The New Temple Church or the Germans Church is an edifice built in Metz during the German annexation. It demonstrates the policy of Germanization by the architecture deployed at that time by William II to consolidate its control over the city. It is now the gathering place of the Protestant Reformed center of Metz.
