Photographer’s Note
Castle Badinghagen
This is the small moated castle Badinghagen, situated southwest of the small town Meinerzhagen in a really remote valley (please see map view right hand) - about 50 km north-east of Cologne.
It was first mentioned in a deed of 1160 and in the course of the centuries it often changed hands and was rebuilt several times. The today's building basically originate from 17th century. The original castle complex has been much more bigger.
In any case it's a truly picturesque, romantic and very calm place. The whole estate is fenced in and in addition surrounded by a big hedge. So I had to take my photo with the camera over my head and two big snarling dogs behind the hedge ... but in order to show you my region I spare no pains ;-)
In workshop you can see a picture taken from the entrance gate.

Sehr geehrter, hoch geschaetzter Herr Nachbar,

Castle? A bit optimistic I think Frank, even if the owners call it that. But a good photo of an interesting building with good colour despite the sky.
cheers

Bonjour Frank

Hallo Frank.

Guten Mittag Frank,
Perhaps not great but wonderful for look at.
Excellent maintained, lovely construction above.
A pity of the white sky, perhaps bad weather when you took these picture.
You chose a nice square frame, this gives depth and good perspective.
Excellent composition, nice captured, good presentation too. TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hi Frank,
Thinks looks like a very comfortable and very homely castle, with many fine details. It has a moat and what looks like a very strong foundation. Then it has this half-timbered part and finally this typical slate walls and slate roof. Together with the dogs you mention, this house must clearly be well protected for burglars. Who´s living here?
Greetings from a very rainy Göteborg

Frank,
This is a great view of this ornate castle. Your composition is nice using the hedge to create a lower border and the bridge to lead the eye into the shot. The colorful trees frame the scene nicely. Too bad the weather didn't give you a blue sky for this shot.
TFS,
Asa

Hello Frank,
A very attractive and nicely proportioned castle. The point of view is well chosen to show off its lines to good effect and give us an idea as to the surroundings. Greta colours and sharpness.

Hallo Frank,

Hallo Frank,
An enchanting small castle, like a fairy-tale castle! In spite of difficulties in shooting the photo, you have managed to get a nice composition. The sky is blank due to cloudy weather, but otherwise the colours and clarity are excellent. Beautiful autumnal colours.
Greetings from still wet and grey Espoo,

Hello Frank!
That's a beautiful building - I love its architectural style!
Although the sky is a bit overexposed (that doesn't bother me too much), the rest of the image has excellent sharpness, exposure and colors! The pov was well chosen and the simple composition is effective and pretty attractive!
TFS - congratulations!
Best regards,
Neyvan
