Photographer’s Note

Champignon de calcaire du Désert Blanc.
Le désert blanc, aussi appelé désert Libyque s'étend à l'ouest du Nil, sur une largeur d'environ 800 km. Il doit son nom à la présence de calcaire qui donne par endroits la couleur blanche.
Les précipitations y sont très faibles (environ 5 mm par an).

Salut Patrick! A great photo of an amazing place. Interesting stone in your foreground, I have seen similar formations in Utah this summer. J'ai eu la chance de visiter le Desert Blanc, et j'en garde un grand souvenir, surtout la nuit à la belle étoile...
Ton cliché est trés net, bien cadré,couleurs au top, trés belle compo.

Yes, it is like a huge mushroom. And the clarity and sharpness are amazing. You exposed this very well for the light and shadows; the rocks and sand look superb against that deep blue sky. A beautiful photo.
