Photographer’s Note
As I never went there, I don't have any photos from the Asian countries devastated by the Tsunami and earthquake.
I chose this picture that best expresses for me the sadness and despair I feel and share at every minute with the people, the adults and especially the children ...
It is a disaster for Humanity.
I wish I could go there and help but I am not a doctor or a nurse. I gave money to organisations such as "Médecins sans Frontières" but I feel so powerless.
Below links to some sites to make donations and also to a blog about Tsunami where a lot of information can be found.
For information about how to help Croix Rouge and Médecins sans frontières and Unicef and also Tsunami Help Blogpost

Hi Sylvie, great note. Yes, the colours of the clouds and the rest be held in darkness lets enough space for our thoughts.
By the way: Bonne année à toi.

Amicalement

Hi Sylvie, thanks very much for your picture and your note full of grief. I feel what you mean, I would like to do more also than only donating money.
The personal stories that you hear on the news are really heartbreaking, but the good thing is, that help and support is organised everywhere.
thank you for your link on your intro page as well. I bookmarked the relief web..

Hi Sylvie. You selected a nice photo from your archives to poignantly express your thoughts on this tragedy of epic proportions. I share your grief and while being limited to giving money to charity is a bit frustrating in the end, I would like to think along the way Rinie put it. Thanks for this posting.
Bonne année to you, take care.

You mention sadness and despair, and in that respect you are not alone. But do you know that your photo contains faith and hope? Anyone seeing that sky will feel the appreciation of nature and the eternal hope that tomorrow will be a brigther day. And maybe that is what we need to share - as well as our wealth - with the people struck by the odd cruelty of that otherwise lifegiving nature. A nice post - I like the completely dark horizon at the bottom.

It was really a great, great disaster to Humanity, Sulvie, and I would like everybody to join forces and help all of the survivors. It would be good if all the money spent with wars and war material was spent to help the people who are suffering this!
Thank you also for the links you provided on your note, Sylvie.
