Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken while walking around the market that takes places every Saturday around the capitol in Madison. I have mixed feelings about this picture and I feel there's something missing. Any suggestion would be appreciated...

The colourful flowers are a beatiful foreground and the white building behind trying to put out through the trees is nice too.
Pity that the statue is too dark and I do not know if from this distance a fill flash would help to give it some extra light.

Cut down one of the trees and move the statue. :-) The composition is just a bit cluttered. Otherwise this is an attractive image of an architectural icon.

très jolie composition et superbes couleurs. dommage qu'on ne voit pas la statue ça aurait rajouter de la dynamique (peut être qu'avec le flash ça aurait pu marché mais pas vraiment facile dans ces conditions de lumières).
Bonne continuation

beautiful colors in the flowers.
The white building with the blue sky behind really helps it to pop out in color.

Hi, Philippe,
It is interesting to read the critiques of this photo. I think the composition is excellent. And I don't mind at all that the statue is in silhouette.
The flow of visually interesting points is very strong, from the flowers in the foreground, up to the statue, then to the people seated and up to the walker, and finally up to the building with the unfurled flag and the attractive top.
Well conceived and well executed shot!
Regards from California,
- William
