Photographer’s Note
this pic is from a recent concert i was at. the guy in the corner was watching the drummer so intently that he seemed to forget everything else! good musicians are a treat to find and it's mesmerising to watch them perform live.
i thought i'd post this to give people a glimpse into something that is a huge part of my life (and a lot of other young people around here!)
the only lighting available was one orange spotlight on the side of the stage and a couple of small ones fixed to the side walls (you can see it behind the singer)
a bit grainy cos i was using ISO 1600
post-pro: cropped, despeckled

Tina, without a doubt this is the strongest of your people shots. You did a good job managing the 1600 ISO. I like the focus on the man on the left and the DOF blur on the 2 behind him (nice cascading effect on the three heads), the blur on the vocalist also works to show the dynamism of the event.
My critique though is that I wish you had moved just a touch more to the right so that the three heads on the left took up more of the frame. I'd have like to see the heads take up a full third of the shot (rather than the quarter they take up now). Still this is a good shot! Keep up the experiments!
Cheers!

Very nice shot. Thanks for not using a flash at a concert. Not only is a flash distracting for the poor guys on stage, the images always look way worse.
