This time Calatrava centre in Valencia in sun.

L'Umbracle — a landscaped walk with plant species indigenous to Valencia (such as rockrose, lentisca, romero, lavender, honeysuckle, bougainvillea, palm tree). It harbors in its interior The Walk of the Sculptures, an outdoor art gallery with sculptures from contemporary artists. It was designed as a entrance to the City of Arts and Sciences. It is 320 meters long and 60 meters wide, located on the southern side of the complex. It 55 fixed arches and 54 floating arches that stand 18 meters high. The plants in the garden were carefully picked to change color with the seasons. The garden consists of 99 palm trees, 78 small palm trees, 62 bitter orange trees. In the garden there are 16 plants of Beauty of the Night. Honeysuckle and hanging Bougainvilea are two of the 450 climbing plants in the umbracle. It also has 5,500 carpet plants such as Lotus, Agateas, Spanish Flags, and Fig Marigolds. There are over a hundred aromatic plants including Rosemary and Lavender.

Unfortunately, this futuristic garden was closed :(. It is just the entrance.

I think you really enjoyed your time in the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències.
This is a splendid view of l'Umbracle with the beautiful white lines of its many arches alternated with a piece of blue sky.
The palm trees provide a fresh and exotic touch.
You had fantastic spring weather.

Hi Malgorzata,
This is a nice symmetrical photo, well composed, sharp and with good natural colors. I think the blue sculpture at the front is an air vent for the car park. You mention many plants, including ones native to Valencia, but the red flowers in your photo are bottlebrush plants (Callistemon) from Australia. I visited here 3 years ago so I have seen them close up - bottlebrush flowers are unmistakable.

So this is only the entrance...;-)
In that case this is an entrance that would make the architects of medieval cathedrals jealous, or indeed anyone building an entrance meant to impress on people. There seems to be a lot of stunning new architecture in Spain. Maybe I should go there to have a look. This is quite extraordinary. It is also a very sharp and well exposed photo.

beautiful photo, bright whites and blues almost always blend in so well together.
Too bad you couldn't fit the very top of the arch in, but thats ok.
great colors, exposure, compo and subject.
you'll just have to go back again to get inside :)

The blue sky & repetitive white arches go so well together. Good sharpness & the giant star with palm trees adds interest. Fantastic symmetry in the composition here. Good saturation & the fg red flowering trees add a splash of color. Tfs!
