Photographer’s Note
I spotted this house face some days ago – actually have I passed this house several thousands times over the years – but the light and icicle was special – hence I stopped for a shot.
A local priest built the house in 1811, for his retirement – however did he die in 1823 while still in service and living in the nearby vicarage. Over the next years there was a tradition for unmarried women to live here – hence the nickname.
The history of this house and most others in the little village Ollerup can be read in this book, which was published a few years ago in order to document life over two centuries (sorry only in Danish).
Please see more of the house here and the church behind.
Second note: It was the reflections which I spotted - this was my first intention for posting.

Jeppe,
Ytterligare ett hus med undermålig takisolering, men det är ju klart det för ju det goda med sig att det blir så här fina bilder!
Skön symmetri och varma färger som kontrast mot istapparna.
Vi ses!

Wow, very very special house. But also very beautiful. Is there maybe a witch living here? I like the symetric shapes and the ice. Good colours and contrast.

I love these old houses, Jeppe.
There's so much warmth in them, the way they were built is an art nowadays and I'm not sure if they still build houses like that anywhere in the world...
Lucky you to be there and see by yourself this monument of an old culture decareted by icicles.
Good and useful note as well,
Cheers,
Robi

Well spotted, could have gone in an old hunt, but I think you had a funnier house face for that. I like the ice on the thatch, making a cute fringe.

Hi Jeppe,
Great picture. I didn't know there were trees growing on the roofs in Denmark. But were is all the snow? I show lately very much Danish pictures with a lot of snow.
Now further critique possible. Again a superb picture.

Hi, you captured a fantastic symmetry here. The green on the roof is well-captured too. Nice POV looking up and good framing by zooming in on the house a little to let us appreciate the details better. Another good one!

Wow!!! Those icicles are special! And yes, you're right about the light, Jeppe, it's perfect. It brings out the true colors and texture of the house and surroundings. Very wonderful view, esp. for someone like me from the tropics! Thanks for sharing! rgds.

Very attractive composition, sharp and coloured.
This house is superb with its moss and ice; and the effect of ice reflecting is very interesting.
I like it

Beautiful view up the old half-timbered house. The icicles indeed give a special seasonal touch to the view, and also cast some great shadows on the façade. Beautiful winter colors and light. The WS version is quite nice, too. Well done Jeppe.

Wonderful stalactits on this house which is also very nice... Looks like a bit a alsacian one. The colors are also perfect. Bravo, Jeppe!

Nice photo Jeppe. I enjoy the linear composition. Good point of view and amazing sharpness. The colors are really good, especially the blue sky. It's fun that we see inside the house.

Hi Jeppe!!
Gosto de ver detalhes interessantes em uma realidade bem diferente da minha. Gosto dos detalhes do gelo e das dores fortes. Parabens.

Very Danish it is.
A nice house and with the ice above the windows, makes it very special. The light is very good and creates great colours. I also like these tiny details behind the windows.
