Photographer’s Note
This is a colour version of the pic I took along time ago, but minus the boat, I hope you like it just as much
I took this picture in Suma, it was very near to Kobe, I found out that this bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world, I think it was built in 1998, but I will verify that for you.
It is the Akashi Kaikyo bridge.
Vital Statistics:
Location: Kobe and Awaji-shima, Japan
Completion Date: 1998
Cost: $4.3 billion
Length: 12,828 feet
Type: Suspension
Purpose: Roadway
Materials: Steel
Longest Single Span: 6,527 feet
Engineer(s): Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Authority
If we compare this bridge to the Golden gate bridge in San Francisco, the bridge is only 8981 feet in length.
The building ont he right is the only museum that centres on Sun Yet Sen, the famous Chinese man that wanted to over throw the corrupt Qing Dynasty with the help of the Japanese.
I hope you like it

Wow! Another extreme engineering work you've presented to us, Daniel! Very good POV, and the building at left side sure makes it lovelier. Sharpness is very good as well! rgds.

Excellent perspective, and you have caught the bridge in a calm and pensive mood with the gentle mist and sober colours of sky and water. The juxtaposition of the interesting buildings foreground right add to the perspective.
Your very informative note is greatly appreciated.

Hi Dan
Good version also the coloured one. Good shooting position gives fine depth and perspective. The greyish weather is for this compo a good detail.

An absolute topper. A dark, mysterious mood. The angle of the bridge gives a lot of depth to the photo. Great note, thanks for sharing.

Hi Daniel, Suspension bridges are beautiful in nature because of the elegant looking. Your POV has made the bridge nicely standout. I like the "endless" effect the fog made to this photo. Well composed. Thanks for your notes about the museum

Outstanding piece of engineering. San Frans' bridge distinguishes from others because of the rustic paint on it. This however, is just amazing. Love the angle and fog, and serenity. Thanks

Good composition, Dan. The bridge fading into the mist makes a great effect, and the museum building in the foreground is a wonderful addition. Looks good in color and with the slightly dim light.

A very nice bridge and also a beautiful picture, Daniel! I liked a lot that fog and the curve of the bridge, as well as the inclusion of the museum on the photo. A very pleasant composition!

You can almost call the picture the disappearing bridge. A little bit hazier and you didn’t see the other side. I think your right this is at the moment the bridge with the largest span. You can compare it the best with the Storebelt bridge in Denmark. With a little less span between the pylons, but much more water to span. Storebelt bridge

A very deep perspective along this beautiful bridge. The curved lines of the supprt cables and the bridge's body create a very dynamic and elegant image. I like very much this small cute green house. Excellent picture, Dan.

A great composition Daniel! The immense bridge line leading to the misty background is impressive! Almost monchromatic, which increases the particular mood. I like this version. Excellent work!

Hi Daniel,
Great shot - good perspective to get all of the bridge considering how long it is! Good exposure in what looks to have been difficult conditions. Well done.

I like it in color a bit more than in sepia. There are some nice subtle shades missed in the sepia that are seen here. The point of view is excellent as in the other giving a very giant and long feel as it jumps across the strait. Perhaps it could use a bit more contrast to make it stand out more with greater depth. And it could be skewed a bit, although I like the way the tower leans in and adds a twisting sort of feel over the long sweeping cables. And you used the foreground to lead right into the bridge from all parts. Nicely taken.
