Photographer's Note

Banteay Srei ("citadel of the women")was built in 967 by courtiers Vishnukumara and Yajnavaraha, who served as a king's counselor. The temple was dedicated to the Hindu god shiva and was constructed of red sandstone which is relatively easy to carve. This accounts for the deep, detailed carving on its walls. (Wikipedia)
