Photographer’s Note
same girl as yesterday the day after... this time i shot the photo while we were leaving the house to drive back to Leh.
It was on august 15th, hence my title, and we came across some local festivities on our way back. maybe i 'll post some ladakhi women in local traditional outfit... How about that Claude? or Vijay?

Nice...nice.
She has a typical Ladhaki face...this madonna of the east!
Yes yes let us see some pics of traditonally dressesd Ladakhi's or even from the Dha Hanu tribe!

Nice background. I like the diagonal and the distinct color of blue and brown as a way to frame this face.

salu Eric

Hi Eric;
I realised I had missed a couple of your most recent postings...
I really like the composition of this one mate. Even with the sun shining stronly on her face, you managed to capture the detail on her shady side. Well done.
Cheers!

I think that everything about portraying is about a good lighting and a flawless background... even more importantly than the expression of the subject...
Here I like how the simple diagonal oriented background helps the reading down to her face -fortunately offcentered, I'm not really fond of centered subjects - also a good side lighting which emphasizes textures and volumes.

Bravo.
