Photographer’s Note
Indus valley viewed from above Spituk monastery built in the 15th century. The cultivated fields are barley. This site is 8km from Leh, the main metropolis in Ladakh. The average altitude at the valley floor is about 3500m. The horizon may seem tilted but this is because the mostly uninhabited south (right) side of the Indus slopes very gently up. There is not much colour in the landscape this late in the year, even the water supply is shut off to prevent bursting pipes. One must wash out of buckets of hot water, very character building when done in an unheated freezing bathroom. The negative was developed in Udaipur, and the rajastani dust did a fine job of scratching it. I tried to smudge the imperfections.
The workshop version shows the zoomed in rooftop. I got the idea from AmiBe's photo yesterday.

hi Tan
awesome landscape... well framed from an amazing POV...
I am surprised to see that this hasn't been able to garner many points... even the one posted to workshop is too good... but alas I can't give you more than 2...

Hi Tan
I stayed at my friend's house in Spituk for something like two weeks ...so I have some great memories from Spituk ... mostly of hanging out with ladakhi friends who used to talk in ladakhi most of time and I just used to nod ... lols ... (I can't understand Ladakhi, just in case you are not sure)
I had some great friends in Spituk ... very cultural experience I had over there staying in my friend's houses.
tfs ... cheers ....sarju
PS: though I stayed there for two weeks but I must admit that I missed out capturing this view that you have shown here
