Photographer's Note

Since early June several statues by the Spanish artist Jaume Plensa have been shown at Djurgården in Stockholm, an island and a mainland area largely consisting of parks. This white head, titled White Forest (Isabella) is placed in the canal between northern and southern Djurgården. The other statues are found on the two opposite shores, facing each other across the water. This canal is a popular place for rowers and canoeists, so it would have been hard to avoid having people in the photo, even if I had tried to. But of course I didn't. I would have found it very boring to take a photo of just the statue.

Here is a larger version.

Two workshop photos will show much larger heads, one seen from a distance on the opposite shore, the other two heads facing each other. The statues will remain here until September 23.
