Photographer’s Note
Repost Notes: I took the advice of virtually every critic and cropped away the buoy on the left (as well as a bit of the top to keep the format). Kept the gull in the upper left though!
Seemed like a small change for a repost so I post this BW version. Just played, rather randomly, with monochroming it in the channels mixers red channel. Works for me in BW too. Other opinions?
Original Notes: I was on way to sweden waiting for the approaching ferry. The light was beatiful, very scandinavian, so I fired a single hot (at the risk of missing my bus!).

I like how you placed the ferry, and I see it´s the ferry between Helsingborg and Helsingör. And it´s good you did´nt take away the little bird...

Oh, yeah, this is much, much better. B&W is always a good choice for shots like this, and the digital grain also seems to do a good job here. The boat looks like a ghost ship of sorts. Well done.

B&W is a great choice for this one, and the crop is a great improvement. Much, much improved.

Agree .. much better now, seems somehow that enhanced the mist effect, quite interesting light too. Good composition, very well seen.
Seems a painting.

Huge Ship - little bird - dramatic light. Nicely catched! I like the way you catched the sun light penetrating the clouds, the light refelction into the water that is so close to you. Good composition. I did not see the other posting - but I like this B&W with its grainy look.

Great shot.
I agree it looks like a ghost ship, As you say, very Scandinavian, espicially the shape of the waves in the Baltic. And I should know, being Danish myself.

Hi, it looks like a dream, and also I thought about Fellini's movie "E la nave va"; the play of the very dark water in the lower part and the sunbeams up there is magnificent; and also that long, ghostly reflection of the ship that it is barely seen. The bird adds mystery and good you left it there. Congratulations and regards! Daniel
