Photographer’s Note
The Kalvertoren, which I photographed in this (stair)way is a gleaming shoppingcenter surprisingly spread over three levels, situated in the ambience of the historic centre.
Easily reached by various forms of public transport or on foot from the Kalverstraat, Heiligeweg and Singel streets, more than thirty modern outlets offer unparalleled shopping leisure.
A lot of well-known and trendy brands are housed in the Kalvertoren. The presence of two department stores further elevate the Kalvertoren to an all-round shoppingcenter with an exceptional atmosphere and character.
In addition to a unique shopping atmosphere and architecture, there is an wide range of eating establishments, where you can have a refreshing drink or enjoy a delicious lunch. The glass tower restaurant, accessible with a modern elevator, offers a splendid view of the historic centre of Amsterdam.

Quite a different Amsterdam scene here. It reminds me of some fo Norbert's, with the lines leading in different directions. Nice shot.

Erg goed werk!

Hi Hans, You have shown an excellent DOF in this picture. This photo is very details from the foreground to all the background. The composition is very interesting and abstract. The two main colors with different lighting conditions carried out the entire photo, which makes the photo very fresh looking eye-catching.

Very good architectural study, Hans, with a lot of different directions that I like. Excellent POV you found to convey this maze of the stairwells and the escalators at the left. A good feeling of perspective and height is conveyed, well supported by the deep DOF. The only thing I might have done slightly differently is wait two more seconds to have the people on the escalator closer to each other. Very good shot.

Hi Hans,
It seems as if traditional is challenging to modern. Too many lines intersecting each other. Very good management of DoF. Both fore and background looks very sharp. Very good job. Thanks for sharing...

Hi Hans,
i appreciate this almost 'grafical study' very much. Nive pov and the dof render the scene a little bit surreal.
The compo is of high impact and with excellent sense of movement.
Compliments, really a nice work!

First I thought 29 was according to a rush in a few minutes on your composition :))
This is realy a great work, whith perfection everywhere.
All is lines and depth, repetitions and colors;
Well done to build on the going down stairway so you provide a lot of volumes and depth.
I like it

Hi Hans,
I very much enjoy this capture, you make something that is probably pretty well ordered look totally chaotic. The motion blur of the escalators really does the trick, it adds that little extra touch to complete the chaos. I like all the lines pointing in every imaginable direction.

Hi Hans, From the thumbnail, I had not expected it was yours. I like the lines in this one very much. The yellow colours make it all so friendly looking here. The black lines in the stairs make a fine pattern, and the escalator, going the other way, amke it a more compliucated picture, but overal, the yellow tones are very nice and warm.

I like the way should be walking around all day long with your camera at your neck, there are no ther ways of catching this kind of almost surrealistic graphism. Well done - Izzet Keribar

better than the Da Vinci scale ! or even Kafkaian ??? Metaphor of modern life ? or even a slight touch of self irony , to return the cliché of the so liberal Netherlands and offer instead an image of alienation ? Real' Funny anyway, with excellent sharpness,
great job, thanks
