Photographer’s Note

This picturesque lake is over 4500 metres above sea level and is situated in Lauca National Park. To get there, you must drive from Arica over a distance of 120 km and cross a 5000 metre high pass. There are very few precipices and the road had just been freshly paved the year that we went there. The scenery is beyond description. Moreover, you will most likely see hundreds of vicuñas, llamas, alpacas, and other animals. As a bonus, you will get to see numerous volcanoes.

Très belle réflection sur l'eau avec les canards on dirait une peinture,par contre je trouve le ciel un peu trop pixelisé.Est-ce une photo numérisée???

Beautiful high altitude sky and snow mountains reflect in the calm water... Great colours and composition.

Hi Paul,
I had seen you visited this pass. Me too and landscape is breathtaking. For this shot there is obvously a lot of JPEG artifacts visible in the sky. But the frame is fantastic !

C'est dommage que le scan a perdu un peu de la qualité de cette prise géniale.

Les Andes sont fascinantes et de tel spectacle un plaisir pour les yeux, tout en étant un merveilleux souvenir.
On va de couche de couleur en couche de couleur, toutes bien contrastés.

La transition vers le digital a nuit à la qualité de cette très belle image

Hi Paul,

I think, due to low resolution, sharpness is not proper, otherwise superb photo. Reflection of snow capped mountain in the lake is looking very beautiful with dark blue sky. Excellent work. Congrats.
