Photographer’s Note
Here is a shot from my town, Rennes.
Actually, Rennes is quite an important town, around 300.000 inhabitants, but it has few high buildings.
This one is called 'Les Horizons' for its being seen far away from Rennes. The first thing that you see when you drive to Rennes is that building. It had been raised in the 1970's, in a very modern style.
I took this shot from the base of the building. The sky was a typically breton sky, that is grey, grey and grey. Though I wanted to play with the contrast between the sky and the darkness of the Horizons.
Added contrast.

Nice shot !
Beautiful perspective... looks like the structure goes to infinite.
Indeed the grey sky did not help. Anyway, the result was amazing.

Amicalement,
Youssef.

This is an intriguing shot David and it certainly caught my eye when I was looking through your images.
The building looks like a landscape from this angle, so this works very well given the name of the building. The wide format helps acentuate the horizon-like aspect.
It also works as a geometrical design and leads the viewer into the image and off into the distance. Your use of the contrast also works well.

Bravo.

It looks black and white but you have it under color. I like the photo, its an interesting angle to take it from.

Hi David,
It'been a while since my last visit to your portfolio... so many photos that i can't catch up all, sorry my friend!
This is impressive, and you fooled me. In the thumbs i thought it was some kind of urban architectural work, but now i realize that is a building, and you are watching the sky!
Very interesting POV and good creativity!

Hi David - fantastic geometry, excellent perspective, who cares if the sky was grey, this shot does not need colour.

Stark shot that is very compelling to look at. Good POV and composition with the division between dark and light - I like it!
