Photographer’s Note
One Foot Island is a uninhabited small Island in the south west of Aitu Taki Lagoon.
Due to a US Navy base in WW II Aitutaki has a airstrip and can be reached within 45 minutes flighttime from the main island Rarotonga.
A french poet described the lagoon waters as' le bleu que fait mal les yeux' - the blue that hurts your eyes. There is no better describtion for what you will see and feel.

Ja Thomas, seit 1992 hat sich dort nicht viel geändert, nur die Landebahn ist mittlerweile geteert worden.

How did you catch this light (shadow on the sand) ?
With this stormy weather you have taken this photo at the right time.
Nice colours on every spot, well done

Thomas,
I have read of the legendary beauty of this island and your photo shows me exactly why that legend is true. The scene is ideal- my true paradise!

Oh Thomas, what a wonderful scene. I had a holiday in Rarotonga 2 years ago, but never got to Aitu Taki Lagoon unfortunately. But you have captured the colours of the water up there so well. TFS.
