This house was in the news yesterday so I thought I would pull out an old snap.

During his twenty years in Cuba, Ernest Hemingway sat at this desk in Finca Vigia (Lookout Farm) and wrote For Whom the Bell Tolls, A Moveable Feast, The Old Man and the Sea and Islands in the Stream.

Now, the house may be in danger from termites, a leaky roof, and creeping vegetation. The US National Trust for the Preservation of Historic Sites has named it to their 2005 list of 11 endangered sites. The first time a site outside of the United States has been on their list. The Cuban government is already providing funds for restoration and claims there is no need to put it on an endangered list.

I have to say that the place looked well maintained when we visited, with a fresh coat of paint and signs of loving care.

Hemingway is revered by the Cubans as well.

Nice cool blues. I like how the light from the windows reflects on the table and on the floor.

I like the colors and the light coming from the window on the right. We can see the shade of a palm tree outside. Nice composition with great details.

There is mystical place for me... I like the books of Hemingway ... thank you
