Photographer’s Note
This is the beautiful Lago Cotacotani in Northern Chile. An exciting drive from Arica on the Pacific Coast will take you to this gorgeous region. This lake is near Lago Chungara just a few kilometers from the Bolivian border.

Paul, this is great place for travel. I like how you crop and compose here. The layers of the mountain are fantastic. I wish you stay there longer to take more pix of this place.

Hi Paul,
A beautiful place typical of what can be found in northern Chile, the plant free area indicates high elevation and the colors get intensity, as here to be noticed in the water. However the scanner has left traces in terms of noise, I often get confronted to this too, I try a small WS.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

What's the yellow colouration caused by? Sulphur? It looks like it was taken on another planet... odd colours and no trees. Very surreal

A beautiful photograph and a very interesting place. I wonder what causes the colorization of the land by the water? Thank you for sharing it Paul.

Hello Paul, this is a beautiful view of these lakes. The blue and yellow contrast each other well. Composition is good - the lakeshore entering the frame from the bottom right and the mountains from the top right. It's a bit of a noisy image (try NeatImage?) otherwise it would be a favourite photo.

Magic ! It's like a painting. I like the colors - it looks so unreal, a great place for a trek, no doubt about it.

Hiya Paul, interesting shot, wonderful colours and lighting, the landscape or should I say moonscape is wild looking. I believe Arica is one of the dryest places on the planet, quite amazing to see so much water in such a place, interesting capture!

Hi Paul
I find the Andes a wonderful place and the more I discovered some part of it, the more I want to discover more. Also the peoples that lives there give to the region a colorful and inviting feel.
This place is inviting and I guess that a photographer could be there a full day and will not have the possibility of covering all the angles.
Have a good day

Salut Paul,
Amicalement,
Emilius

Hi Paul!
What can I say to a great photographer like you? Wonderful composition...I like this kind of desolate landscapes.
"Travelling" through your gallery I saw that you visited some of the most beautiful places in the earth so it is quite strange for me (that I've never leaved Europe) to give you some advices but...if your doubt is between Tenerife and Gran Canaria I'd say GRAN CANARIA. But I'm just came back from Fuerteventura and I have to say it...it is even more beatiful!!! If you have any question don't hesitate!
Best regards
Elena
