This wooden bridge connects the Mon tribal area with the town of Sangkhlaburi across the lake. It is in the far west of the country, near to the Burmese boarder. The bridge was build about 20 years ago by the then abbot of Wat Mon. It allows the Mon people to get to and from the town quickly for school or business. It is the longest wooden bridge in Thailand. In the evening it acts as a sort of High Street and young people hang out there to chat with each other. Sadly it is getting very rickety because of lack of maintenance. Before, motor cycles were allowed to cross, but now only pedestrians may use it. You can feel it shaking as you walk. Previously water flowed under the bridge and kids used to dive off it into the water. As you can see there is little water under it now. But it still acts as a highway for the Mon people and connects them to the town.

Hi Kevin,
the light is really nice in spite of the cloudy weather.
I like the colorful chilfren on the bridge.
Good composition

Lovely light kevin and very nice perspective. But the colors seems to be a bit 'fake' any PP to enhance the colors or contrast??

The colors are glorious here. Thelight is great and it has worked to your benefit as it enhanced the colors of nature and that of you cute subject. Nice composition and it shows very well the comings and goings.

Good, deep shot! What strikes me the most is that all the people are so colourfully clothed. Nice, well balanced composition.

Kevin, this is a real nice shot, much about nothing, a bridge, people not even raising their heads, but the colors of their clothes are a wonderful contrast to the looming skies, and the strong perspective allied to these vivid colours introduce a good dynamic to the image. Very succesful capture, IMO.

Funny, last night, i was at a friend who went to sangkhlaburi 4 months ago, and all his shots have this grey overcast sky. What gives?

Another superb shot from you Kevin. The colors are gorgeous (they POP), the kids are spread out in the most pleasant and effective way, great perspectie, notes, the lot. I like how colors look against that monson sky over there.
This is your very best work or close to it...Cheers, Fancis

Hello Kevin,
what I have firstly noticed in your picture, it is those beautiful colors, vivid and nicely saturated. There is also a great DoF here, with this bridge leading your look from the bottom to the top of your composition.
It is a human higway.
Well seen
Luan

I am amazed at the wonderful colours on the childrens' clothing. The contrast with the other more natural colours is quite impressive. It is nice the way life goes on without your presence changing the nature of the scene.

Hi Kevin,
That's a lovely photo, it has a great perspective, a dramatic sky and to animate the place I like these children spread over the bridge with bright and contrasting clothes.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Kevin
Interesting shot with these colourful kids who seem to ignore you completely. There's so much depth thanks to your pov along the bridge. I like how the colours stand out so well.
