the rnli`s oldest pulling lifeboat the Robert and Ellen Robson been pulled through the narrow streets of whitby on its way to its tempary home while whitby lifeboat station gets its new developement done.

It is not the first time a lifeboat has been pulled through the town,in january 1881 theRobert Whitworth was pulled over land to Robin Hoods Bay a distance of about 10miles in thick snow to effect a rescue at Ravenscar. A local artist John Freeman did a painting to commerate the event.
