Photographer’s Note

The Colorado River is at right shortly before it flows through the famous Grand Canyon, these shots I took from the Glen Canyon Bridge. 2 portrait format photos taken with 28mm lens stitched. Brief info about the bridge (data in english units):
The absence of rail facilities near the construction site of Glen Canyon Dam necessitated construction of Glen Canyon Bridge for the transportation of construction materials and equipment from railheads to the site. A single-span, steel-arch structure, the bridge has an overall length of 1,271 feet. At its completion in 1959, it was the highest arch bridge in the world and the second longest of its type in the United States. The bridge spans the Colorado River 865 feet downstream from the dam. The deck of the bridge is 700 feet above river level.

Beautiful composition granting a great perspective along the canyon. The colors are great and the stitching job, although not perfect, is pretty good.

fantastic landscape, well composed, the river on the right (1/3 rule), good diagonal with the cliffs.

I like the shadow over the mountain at the deep of the landscape... How do you manage to get such a photogenics skies... Excellent composition, you would have prize as a filmmaker of epic movies, unless creating the shot. Take care and keep showing us the world, I like your vision about it.

Hi Tan,
Incredible colour in this dynamic, well composed photo. I like your POV with the river to the right and we can gain a real perspective of the high cliffs. The eye is drawn nicely into the frame and up the river to explore the rugged area beyond. You have proportioned the subjects well, leaving just enough sky to balance this rugged landscape. A very successful shot.

Hi Tan,
You chose a very good POV from the bridge, it seems we are flying over the canyon and the river. A good sensation. The composition having located the river out of center to see better the rock wall at the left hand side was a good idea. The green spots of vegetation at the edges of the river give a nice touch of colour contrast in this view.

This picture does a good job showing the stratified rock in this part of Arizona and also the Colorado River in all of its splendor.
You were quite fortunate to have that gorgeous blue sky.
