Photographer’s Note

Sur le parvis de Notre Dame, un amuseur vous propose de faire manger moineaux et pigeons dans votre main... Rare possibilité de les photographier en mouvement et de près, sans un zoom puissant du moins.

J'ai choisi de traiter cette image en noir et blanc plutôt qu'en couleur, ces dernières étaient assez ternes et plus ou moins contrastées.

Yves - this is a mini-masterpiece - love the contrasting movement and stillness of this image and a great choice for B&W - you have captured such a range of flight shapes - some years ago I painted 17 large birds as a mural based on stylised tribal paintings from India - I took the basic bird motif and then adapted it to realistic bird movement - your image reminds me of this - great DOF - and well done for bringing out the contrast!

This is simply amazing: you did a fabulous job in this one. I love the movement of the birds flying around the hand. It's got this dynamic aspect, and at the same time that peaceful touch. Really a piece of art.

Hi Yves.
This is an awesome shot. You've captured the motion of the sparrows very well, especially in the wings. You've also captured the detail in the birds on the hand, as you can clearly see the patterns on ther backs. The black and white is an excellent idea as it focuses on the birds motion and detail. Colour would take that focus away. Well done!

Une photo hyper originale, je savais les moineaux dociles la-bas, mais à ce point !!
Très interessant et bien réussi sur le plan technique, dommage pour le 1/60 qui aurait pu être plus court pour un instantané plus précis, mais je dois avouer qu'on se représente bien le mouvement comme cela.
Allez, je l'ajoute à mes favorites.

Bonsoir Yves,

Certains t'ont écouté, d'autres pas, mais cela donne un très joli rendu !! J'aime beaucoup le fait que ta profondeur de champ soit si petite, et je pense que cela t'aurait donc permis d'etre encore un peu plus rapide que le 60è.

En tout cas une bien belle photo, et l'idée du noir et blanc est très intéressante ici. Ca nous concentre sur leur plumage, et j'aime beaucoup ces jeux.
