Photographer’s Note
The evening, when the crushing sun is done lighter, the monks go up on the temples to meditate.
It gather like spots of color in decorations full with mystery.
The temple mountain of Phnom Bakheng is a superb observatory. One looks at there passing the curious ones. One looks at the sky there setting ablaze Angkor Vat.
(Phnom Bakheng is one of the first temple "mountain" of the site of Angkor. It was built near Angkor (889-910).

Bonjour Bertrand,
Daniel.

Hi Bertrand,
Another very beautiful shot of the ruins. I find the different levels interesting and the orange robes definately attract our attention and helped us to focus on the two structures. Nice POV and great clarity. Well done!! Regards.

Salut Bertrand
I know this place. Did you walk up the stairs, or take the elephant ride up the hill? I also have a post of this temple on TE. I like the monks in their orange saffron robes. They add context. Tres bon!

Something different from you every day Bertrand. Good composition with the monks included. Good, clear, sharp image, although it is a pity the sky is burnt out.
When we went up there, following an elephant sweeping dust at us with a branch of a tree, it was crowded with tourists, and there was no colourful sunset that night!

Hi Bertrand,
lovely photo, I like the monks so much.
You have catched the last sunbeams.
I've been there in April, it's beautiful.
Have you also made a shot of Angkor Main-Temple from this mountain?
I'm coming back for your next photos, thanks

Hi Bertrand,
I liked the way you framed this picture, with thw two collums on a diagonal angle. The presence of the monks there adds life to this sacred temple. However, the sky is not great and a bit oversaturated. Anyway, a great shot.

Salut Bertrand,

That seems like quite a place to sit. It must offer some amazing views in all directions. And your wide view of the three sitting there really captures the total environment well. It's nicely framed by the two towers. The lighting is very calm and peaceful to go with the atmosphere. And i don't mind the sky washed out, which was beyond control here. This way it doesn't distract at all from the three subjects at the heart of the image. There is a good diagonal formed across the scene over the landscape through them, too, which helps. And I like how they seem to be more sitting around talking than anything else. Perhaps discussing the happenings of the day.

THIS PICTURE IS SUPERB.
The composition is excellent and two monks in orange (with all of them in orange it would be too perfect ;))))) are adding a touch of colour to this prevalent gray picture. They're sitting just where the green of the trees is greener than in other parts of the photo and also this is a plus. I think that all this also make more colourful entire picture. I've tryed to hide (with my hand) the monks part of it and the picture became monochromatic. Conclusion is ;))) very, very nice picture.

Merci
