Photographer’s Note
An inukshuk is usually associated with the High Arctic, but Manitoulin Island is sometimes called Ontario's 'near north'. I spotted this one at a farm gate near Elizabeth Bay. They symbolize the spirit of unity, community effort, guidance and cooperation, among other things. Remove one piece, and the whole falls apart, in the same way that a healthy society crumbles if important human factors are removed.
