El Malecon: freedom by bike ? Photo

Photographer’s Note

Nous profitons des derniers rayons de soleil sur le Malecon.
C'est une promenade très populaire le soir venu et très appréciée pour nous - touristes - après la très grande chaleur de la journée.

D'habitude les vélos sont posés contre la rempart ... on aperçut cet homme ... avec son vélo, prêt à partir ... j'espère qu'il n'a pas l'intention de rejoindre la Floride en vélo ... Je vous rassure, non ;o).

La Habana was very warm that day. Hopefully, We walked by the Malecon at the end of day.
This is a very popular promenade. We appreciated the sunset.
We were amused by this scene: we know that many cubans are risking tehir life to leave their country by any means, we hope this one will not try to reach Florida with his bike ;o). That was not the case.

Nice shot with a good contrast and i like the tones, but i think the biker might be a bit too much in the middle

Hi Al, I like this colours very much and also the silhouette is perfect. I agree with Bos about the biker too much in the centre but anyway the feeling of the picture is great.

très belle image, le silhouette se détache très bien sur ce ciel clair.
Beau post-traitement, j'aime le rendu des couleurs.
On se demande ec qu'il va faire avec son vélo... une image intrigante.

Hi Al,
The B&W works perfectly for this view, I like to see these nice silhouettes, the man and his bike. I just find that it is too much centered, maybe with the scene a little bit more out of center, it would had been better for the composition, anyway, it is a very good shot. Just from my own POV.
This summer I also had the opportunity to take a walk by the Malecón at the evening time, a very nice pleasure.

I think this composition is really very nice - I like where you have placed the cyclist in the frame, nice tone and range - a really fine image that finds it's way into my 'phantom favourites' - my favourites collection is full!

this is such a strong image. it's very bold to frame your subject in the centre of the photograph, but you've done it and it's worked well. the semi-silhouette is great. it's nice to see some small detail of the rider. the cloud and horizon add some nice balance to the photo. the sepia tones are great.
