Lakeshore of the lake Ontario, this is where my family and I like to take our dog for a swimm, while others do some running, play volleyball, read book, or just have some quiet or romantic moments.

For the learning part of this upload just type :lake Ontario" in google or any other search engine of your choice;-)

Fantastic shot Peter i love the simplicity of it all. Superb stuff. I wish it was mine!!

so simple & effective. This is very good peter. people, seagull, oon, all so alone yet in the same world.
amicalement, michel.

Grain is so sexy! OK, I hope my wife won't read this remark, but I just can't help myself. Amazing shot here, Peter, due to the composition, the moon and, yeah, grain. This image has a soul, something that I find lacking in digital images. I'm gonna have to go out and shoot a bit more film...lately I'm getting lazy and doing the digital bit on every photographic outing in this uninspiring city of Shanghai. Anyway, back to the photo. Composition works because the people on the right balance out the moon on the left and it all sort of fits together rather nicely.

Is this straight ISO 400 or did you push it? Anyway, this is just amazing. Well done, Peter.

hey so you shot on film at last!!! how was it???

the photograph is very nice.. simple yet kind of complex..
i wonder if there was anyway you could have for the silhouette of the people to be more prominent..
just a little more...
this single bird is nice..i also wonder if after clicking this shot you waited for a while for a whole bunch of birds flying across the sky..

but i'm just wondering how the shot would look a little out of focus as well.. i think i should stop wondering...

since you're shooting on film now.. i'll happily point out that this is one of my favourite scenic photographs.. it's just sooooo beautifull and i really wish i was there.. :(

take care :)

Looks like a very peaceful place, nice line formed by the people, bird and moon and also that feint suggestion of a horizon somewhere in the distance is great too. And, yeah, the grain does make the shot work overall.

First post with your new (old) camera! I wonder if its the romance of shooting film or the romance of shooting film in an old camera. Don't forget to give some colour slide film a go occassionally, even if you have the digital for that. There's something appealing about a grainy colour slide compared to a grainy digital picture...

Very moody take, Peter. Lot of grain...oh I see that you changed to film!! Isn't zuiko 50/1.4 wonderful? Excellent composition. So bare, yet it says all.

i quite like the negative space here.
the moon, bird and the three-X'es make a great
combination together..
well done, cheers.

Hey Peter,

thats a ghostly horror movie sort of image. Has this been postprocessed to achieve this extreme sort of grain effect?

Simple and nice. Wish the moon has been bigger!

Andre'

Peter, this is a very unconventional but very successful shot. We have humanity, a soaring bird at a high but reachable distance, and the moon unimaginably far away. Thought-provoking.

I like the grain, but there's an odd plaster-like texture in the sky, along with a couple of mysterious bright spots toward lower left. These are minor distractions.

Nice work! Regards, Ken.

Whoo, this is really amazing. The grain is lovely here and the composition is so, you know, minimalist, yet everything carefully placed, and the people at the bottom anchor the photo and give it feeling. Excellent. You have so hit your stride.
