Photographer’s Note
At first, when I took this photograph, I did not notice that we could see some of their nudities. I was affraid to cross the border with this kind of materiel.
It took me long before to postt the pic and finaly realised that is just a daily life shot.
Black Hmong family living the north of Vietnam. This hill tribe group origins the south of China.

Great subject and composition + beautiful light and tones + great framing = excellent shot.

Good shot Steeve. I really like how you have created a sort of sideways V shape with the subjects in the shot. I also think you have done very well in filling the frame without making it seem too crowded. I do find the facees to be just a little dark, I think that may be the light you were given at the time (looks pretty bright), but perhaps with a little PS adjustment you could bring the faces out just a bit more? A very good travel photo overall Steeve.

I agree with you, but I think the nudity, in this case, is not important. The important thing here is that we can see the way they live for your photo, and this one is very well done.
I like very much the composition of the group, is like manuals says.

This is a very good shot showing the actual hard way of living.
I dont believe that is insulting at all moreover the truth should be naked in order to see exactly and actually the fact.

interesting picture, I wouldn't notice they are without pants if you didn't tell about it, they looks so natural, interesting... interesting picture, and how did you get there...? i am planning a trip to vietnam in 3 weeks, maybe i'll see also sth as original as you...

A great composition with the three little boys almost in a diagonal and a taller one in the middle. Everything swork for this shot : the ground, the rocks, the central trunk, the tire of bike, and the dirty faces... A real story that you offer us there. Thanks a lot !

This composition is really good! A rough life is definitely portrayed here. The nudity is not that noticible in this composition but the living conditions are. Everything about this photo is just excellent.

Le contraste parfait et la composition donne un effet 3D intéressant. La nudité de ces gamins n'est pas dérangeante sinon de se demander comment ils font pour éviter les infections avec ce manque d'hygiène flagrant.

steve: great composition and eye. some sharpness lacking, but that's life. many of my favorite "could've been" past shots were botched technically. keep up the good work.

The composition is formidable with these kids in diagonal, the expressions and the well saturated colours, everything in this photo demonstrates a successful technique. A great shot!
La composition est formidable avec ces gosses en diagonal, les expressions et les couleurs bien saturées, tout dans cette photo démontre une technique réussie. Un gros bravo!

This is a nice shot. I am not sure that I would have noticed the nudity. The colors are wobnderful and the way the picture is framed. I like the expression of the older kid with his face against the pole.Very nice Photo. The smiley will be here to morrow...

Another great portrait. Composition is great with the diagonal made by the children, and also the color and details.

Before I read your note, I did not even realized that there was nudity in this shot. That tells me that your photo does not cross any forbiten line in my opinion. This is a great shot of a very poor and sad scene.
