Gelukkige verjaardag Henk! I very much like your wish to let the light shine in yourself, it's beautifully put and I think it's very well symbolised by the image. I like the hand over the candles, touching the light. Personally I think I would have cropped the praying hands - but I'm not sure if it would be better. Anyhow best wishes and hope you'll have a happy birthday! Sabine

I know in this special day, I would have to write only good things, but I have one regret: I would have liked to have more of the hands on right.May be I am wrong about this...

Een passende foto voor deze bijzondere dag vandaag, en als ik dan lees dat u vandaag jarig bent, van harte proficiat, en mogen er nog vele jaren komen in goede omstandigheden.
Wij zouden samenkomen en welk geloof het ook zou zijn, wij willen met zijn allen vrede, maar enkele heethoofden zien dit spijtig genoeg anders.

Well, happy birthday and Diwali to you !!!
I find it more than appropriate to celebrate the festival of light with such a luminous photo, its clarity and sharpness leave me speechless. I'm not sure to know how to interpret this scene, does touching the light with the hand has a special meaning ? Also I can't figure out what are the two green elements to the left but they add an extra touch of color.

First of all: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Henk!!! It surely must be special to celebrate both your birthday and Diwali at the same time. You chose a good picture from your archives for this special day. I like the inclusion of the arm and the light that's shining on it. It makes us realize that these flames are placed there by individual people, reflecting their own wishes and thoughts.

Happy birthday Henk. Your message is very powerful in this one. I was born in November too. Diwali falls according to Indian calendar and I was born a day after Diwali. So according to Indian calendar My birthday always falls a day after diwali.
