Photographer’s Note
Behind the House.
9.00 a.m. this morning and the River Ennig, swolen by heavy rains, races past the back of our house.
OK, so I didn't have to TREK very far to get this one -that's our neighbour in the window on the right doing some washing up!
Thirty minutes earlier and I would have got my feet wet taking this photo, as the river rose out of its bed and over the path. Just behind me is another small river; and to my right, the point where the two join.
Need I say, these are unusually high levels for the water here.
Photographic notes:
4 portrait shots stitched together. I had to remove a couple of power lines which could not be joined properly. Just a quick job really.

Bonsoir Colin,

Hi Colin
A great shot - it captures the essence of the flowing river to a tee. Great lighting and perspective. Congratulations

Only after a long study of the picture I realized that some corners of the buildings deviate slighly from the angle that my eyes expected. I assume its a result of stiching portrait format together. The all-over-the-world standard green of the railings and the design of the street lantern giving the photo a more central european appearance.

Hi Colin
Great use of stitching to give this interesting perspective - the river is dramatic yet there is a quaint element of daily life too. The positioning of the house over the river gives a dramatic feel. Would be interesting to know what exposure details you used to give the effect.
Regards, Susanna

Great shot. There are tons of whitewater long-exposure shots, but yours stands out because of the dynamism. You really get a sense of the force of the river.
