Photographer’s Note

Miyajima is in my opinion not only 'one of the three best sightseeing spots' in Japan, rather I believe (after seeing all three) that it is ichiban, no.1.
There are many pictures of the famous submerged torii on the TE site, I have a few too, but I have decided instead to show something more simple and mundane: the way to the rope-way (cable car). It's not a great picture, it's just a small reminder that distances are measured not in miles or kilometers, but in time to get there. And of course the Japanese English is something special...

This sign made me smile. I measure things in time too, but I guess it could be a little off :) As you said, it's not the nicest picture, but funny indeed.
