Photographer’s Note
The back bone of any village church in England seems to be the collection of elderly ladies who bake cakes, make tea, fuss over the vicar, organise fund raising activities (to save the church roof) and who wear floral dresses in the summer. Here they are, singing from the back so they can have the tea and strawberries and cream ready at the end of the service.
Taken at the same event as this one.
Happy xmas all! Will try and post more frequently in the New year.

Nice 'village documentary' image Bryan - I can imagine it as part of a whole series about life in the village - like your note too - oh for the gentility of this land - but I have teenage sons!!
best wishes Kev

Hi Bryan!
I think your view to old people in a village sounded familiar to how I see old people in Japan. They wear floral dresses as well and organise some activity groups and gosship a lot. We all are the same in the end. hehe. I liked your note too.

Hi Bryan,
I must say this photo carries a lot of what's been going everywhere, especially here at home (England).
Nice slice of everyday life with plenty of tea/coffee cups. You created a perfect diagonal using their heads and song sheets.
The only thing I would change here is the upper right corner - it bothers me just a little.
Thanks and have a merry Christmas yourself,
Robi
